Wikipedia is a free, web based encyclopedia. Wikipedia is a collaborative website that uses an open wiki whereby users can edit articles and pages, therefore the whole site which consists of over 20 million articles is all edited and contributed to by anybody. Wikipedia is an open-source website and each page is written collaboratively by authors around the world. As a non-profit making site, wikipedia is simply a free encycolopedia in which anybody can contribute to. Although easy to gain access to information on any subject, there are also negative aspects as some authors may add incorrect information and although any added information is monitored, due to the vast amounts of information added some may remain incorrect or false.
